THE 2014 NOMINATION PROCESS HEATS UP: by Brian Zelley

(Photo: Billy Downey)

In this the second year, it is not easy selecting a few
from the many, but through the voices of many come
the names of the few from across Canada from the
efforts of past achievements and contributions.

One of the leaders to come forward as a likely
selection is the late Billy Downey who along
with the Maritimes Phil Baraly have gained
much support. But, beyond these two from
the Maritimes there are plenty of others such as women boxers
Ariane Fortin of Quebec and Mary  Spencer from Ontario. However,
others names have been suggestedd with a reasonable level  of support
such as builder Paul Hortie of Alberta Ontario boxer Andrew Kooner
and former amateur and professional boxer Matthew Hilton.

One of four regions
from which the 2014
selections will be made

The Maritimes
Quebec
Ontario and
Western
Canada.
